UCPAC to Launch Jazz Club, 1/17

The UCPAC Loft will be transformed into a full-on Jazz Club experience with dedicated music genres for a guaranteed evening of stylized music and entertainment.

Each monthly event will feature a different theme and the performances will be followed by an acoustic jam session allowing for audience/artist collaboration. The other monthly themes include A Valentine's Jazz Special on Feb. 14; The Billie Holiday Songbook on March 5; Groove Explorations on April 17; Latin Vibes on May 8; and The Music of Thelonious Monk on June 5.

Each week a different local restaurant will be providing a complimentary selection of their tasting menu to all audience members. In addition, cocktail service will be available: beer, wine, and signature cocktails, on a cash basis.

Born and raised in Israel, trombonist, composer and bandleader Reut Regev records and tours with some of the finest musicians in their respective fields. Her band, R*time, has received enthusiastic responses from all corners of the world after being featured in many international festivals. R*time is the first official project in the 13-year musical collaboration between Regev and her husband, drummer/co-composer Igal Foni.

A limited number of on-stage tables for two are $50 and can be purchased by calling or visiting the box office. The UCPAC Loft is located in the rear of the Mainstage building at 1601 Irving Street in the heart of Rahway's Arts District and easily accessible to major roads and public transportation.
