The Road Company to Present IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, 12/4-14
Tradition is king during the holiday season. We dust off the knick-knacks and the memories, and we collect new ones to treasure. This year, The Road Company is proud to present a featured favorite with an exciting new twist: It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, running December 4 - December 14, 2014 (Thursdays at 7pm; Friday and Saturdays at 8pm; Sundays at 2pm) and tickets range from $22-$25 with discounts for seniors, students and groups. Performances are at the Grand Theatre, located at 405 S. Main Street, Williamstown, NJ. Tickets are available at www.roadcompany.com or 856-728-2120. Please see the Fact Sheet below for more details.
Just as we adorn the Christmas tree with lights and ornaments, so too do we indulge in familiar television remembrances: whether it's the Peanuts gang, the claymation reindeer, or the tap dancing vacationers. Perhaps the biggest holiday story of all is that of George Bailey, a man who meets his guardian angel and learns to value not only himself, but the love and friendship of his town. His journey reminds us all of the tribulations we face, and how the seemingly insurmountable can become mundane with the help of family.
What is most unique about It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play is the style in which this familiar story is retold. Rather than recreating the movie scene for scene, a talented squad of actors relives the classic as a 1940's style radio broadcast. The familiar story and the unique presentation will tickle both the imagination and nostalgia in everyone.
This show marks the directorial debut of Road Company regular Bryan Mead, who played Link in Hairspray and George in Wedding Singer, both musicals from last year's season at the Grand Theatre. Remember what Clarence tells George (paraphrased, of course): Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't at the theater, he leaves an awful hole. Happy Holidays!
