The Eagle Theatre Presents THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, 10/5-20
The Eagle Theatre, located at 208 Vine Street in Hammonton, NJ, will present the Tony® Award winning musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee from October 5 to October 20.
Spelling Bee is the tale of six adolescent overachievers (played by adults) vying for the spelling bee championship of a lifetime. Their quirky personalities, as well as the catchy quality of the score, have made this hilarious and heartwarming production a favorite among theatre-goers since its debut performance in 2004.
This production of Spelling Bee is notable for the Eagle Theatre, in that The cast is both geographically and professionally diverse. Areas represented among The cast include South Philadelphia (Samantha Morrone and Justina Ercole), Delaware (Paul Weagraff), Moorestown (Toni Thompson) and Vineland (Will Baez), among others.
This production of Spelling Bee will feature the masterful sound design of Kevin Rodio, who was recently honored with a Perry Award for Outstanding Sound Design for a Play. Actors Equity Association member Kevin Hurley will make a return appearance to the Eagle Theatre stage. Hurley also owns Philadelphia-based comedy group High Note Humor.
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, directed by Eagle Theatre co-artistic director Ted Wioncek III, will run at 8pm on October 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, and 3pm on October 7 and 14.
