The Attic Ensemble Holds Auditions For THE PILLOWMAN 11/16, 11/17
AUDITIONS: The Pillowman: Monday and Tuesday, November 16 & 17, 7:30pm- Performances are February 19-28, 2010. Apart from a read-thru or two, rehearsals will begin in January, and be held in the evening with weekend rehearsals as needed.
There are no appointments necessary; auditioners will be seen on a first come/first served basis. Familiarity with the script is strongly encouraged; sides are downloadable below, and will be provided at auditions. No monologues are needed. CASTING THE FOLLOWING ROLES:Katurian: late twenties/early thirties. A writer of gruesome short stories involving children. He is articulate, intelligent, and passionately protective of his brother Michal.
Michal: thirties. Katurian's older brother, who is "slow to get things" following years of abuse at the hands of thier parents. He seems to be open and honest and incapable of deceit.
Tupolski: thirties to fifties. Self-described "good cop," and lead investigator trying to get to the bottom of the vicious murders of some local childen. Even-tempered but sarcastic.
Ariel: thirties to fifties. Volatile "bad cop," on a vendetta against abusers of children. Quick-tempered and violent.
Actors of all ethnicities are encouraged to attend. Bring pix & résumés, stapled together. Sides will be provided for cold readings at the audition. No appointments are necessary; actors will be seen on a first come/first served basis.
