The Theater Company of Hoboken (TTC) believes in encouraging tomorrow's stars today. They've cast regional youth in productions for years and had many workshops, and not for naught given
several of their students have gone on to starring and supporting roles on and off-Broadway, as well as locally, press notes state. This time, TTC is offering two workshops – one aimed at kids and the other at teens. Both will be taught at TTC's Studio – C413 at Monroe Center for the Arts, 720 Monroe St., Hoboken, NJ.

KIDS ON STAGE (for 4th through 6th graders)

A six-week course designed to serve as a collaborative environment where children are encouraged to write and star in productions of their own work. The teachers and students work in a group setting, allowing children to experience team work and collaboration, all while exploring their own creativity. Once the plays are written, students go into rehearsal, incorporate technical elements (lights, sound, costumes) and put up the finished play for an audience. This workshop is collaboration with Speranza Theater Company.

Saturday mornings from 9am-11am from April 14, 2012 until May 19, 2012
Location: TTC's Studio C413, Monroe Center for the Arts
Cost: $150/child
Online registration: www.brownpapertickets.com/event/240805

ACTING 101 for YOUTH (for 7th through 9th graders)

Do you have a drama queen or king in the house? Well, what better way to focus all that creative energy than into an acting class. Focus will be on body and voice explorations, characterization as well as monologue and scene prep work. The end result of the class will be a final sharing of the monologue or scene the students have been working on.

Location: TTC's Studio C413, Monroe Center for the Arts
