Springpoint Foundation to Honor New Jersey Arts Leader Steve Runk

By:

Springpoint Foundation has announced that Steve Runk, former Executive Director of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, is this year's recipient of the Award of Excellence in Cultural Arts and Humanities. The award will be presented in conjunction with the closing ceremony of the New Jersey State Senior Art Show at Meadow Lakes on Friday, October 28. Mr. Runk was recently appointed Director of Communications at the Lewis Center for the Arts at Princeton University.

John McEwen, Executive Director of the New Jersey Theatre Alliance, will introduce Steve Runk.
This Award of Excellence in Cultural and Humanities is present each year to an individual or organization who demonstrates outstanding commitment and true innovation in enhancing the lives of older adults by removing access barriers to cultural arts and humanities programs..
"There is no greater show of dedication to these goals than Steve Runk's twenty years with the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, three as the Executive Director," said Joseph T. Claffey, Senior Vice President of Springpoint Foundation. "Because of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts many seniors are able to experience the arts through the funding focus on programs that address access issues such as the Cultural Access Network and programs like the New Jersey State Senior Art Show." Previous winners include Emily Mann and McCarter Theatre, Two River Theatre, and Grounds for Sculpture.

Springpoint Foundation is committed to supporting programs that make a difference in people's lives as they age and enrich the communities in which they live. Each year over 10,000 people benefit from Springpoint Foundation Community Enrichment programs including: workforce development, Encore arts and culture, and health and wellness education.
