SKIPPYJON JONES Plays MCCC's Kelsey Theatre, 5/19

By:

Young, creative and imaginative minds "will delight in TheatreworksUSA’s brand new children’s musical, 'Skippyjon Jones,' coming to Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre on May 19, with performances at 2 and 4 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road."

Based on the book by Judy Schachner, “Skippyjon Jones” is described as "an enchanting story about a little kitten with big ears and even bigger dreams. Sometimes he pretends to be a bird, sometimes he pretends to be a llama, and sometimes he pretends to be a whale. Anything but a Siamese cat! When he finally decides he wants to be a dog, it’s not just any dog. Skippyjon transforms himself into Skippito Friskito, a chihuahua that is the greatest canine sword fighter in old Mexico – complete with mask, cape and accent! But when the local pack of chihuahuas is terrorized by the gigantic bee, will Skippyjon be a 'fraidy-cat' or the top dog?"

Based in New York, TheatreworksUSA is America's largest not-for-profit theater for young audiences. Since 1961, they have enlightened, entertained, and instructed over 78 million people in 49 states and Canada. Under the direction of Barbara Pasternack and Ken Arthur, TheatreworksUSA is the only children's theatre to receive both a Drama Desk and a Lucille Lortel Award.
Tickets are $10 for all ages and may be purchased online at www.kelseytheatre.net or by calling the Kelsey Box Office at 609-570-3333. Kelsey Theatre is wheelchair accessible and free parking is available next to the theater.
