SHREK Begins 5/16 at Barn Theatre
The Barn Theatre of Montville, NJ will be presenting "Shrek the Musical". Performances will be on May 16, 23, 24, 30, 31, June 6 and 7 at 8pm; and on May 17, 18, 25, June 1 at 2pm. Tickets are $24 (senior/student tickets are $22 on matinees only).
In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre - not a handsome prince - shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won't shut up, a bad guy with a SHORT temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand. His name is Shrek.
Shrek the Musical, with book by David Lindsay-Abaire, music by Jeanine Tesori and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire, is based on the Oscar winning DreamWorks Animation Motion Picture and book by William Steig of the same name. Full of all-new songs and plenty of laughs, "Shrek the Musical" is part romance, part twisted fairy tale and part irreverent fun for audiences of all ages.
