Rhino Theatre Announces Casting For Disney's NEWSIES

Rhino Theatre announces casting for Disney's Newsies the Broadway Musical. The musical will be playing at Rhino Theatre's Mainstage in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey June 15 - July 8, 2018.

Set in turn-of-the century New York City, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged "newsies." When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys' expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what's right!

C.J. Carter (pictured) leads the cast as Jack Kelly, originally played on Broadway by Jeremy Jordan and in the Disney film of the same name by Christian Bale. Gillian Parker (also pictured) will play opposite Carter as the spunky, no-nonsense news reporter Katherine Plumber who takes on the cause of the newsies. Joining Carter and Parker are Brad Bebout as Joseph Pulitzer, Brandon Conti as Davey, Jessica Steele as Medda Larkin, Jake Abouyan as Crutchie and Sam Chuck and Anthony Masefield alternating in the role of Les.

The ensemble of Newsies will feature Katie Corcoran, Dylan Coker, Noelle Corbett , Nicholas Culver, A.J. Deliantis , Tim DenBleyker, Paige Erdman, Evan Grey, Greg Gwyn, Madi Kuder, Adam Mahonchak, Tyler Moscaritola, Donald Pauselius, Brian Petty, Matt Recho, Wayne Robinson, Maria Ruppert, Barnet Schmidt, Sean Ullmer, Ryan Washington, and Hayley Wolosz.

Newsies features a score by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Sister Act) and Jack Feldman and a book by four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein (La Cage aux Folles, Torch Song Trilogy). The musical, produced by Rhino Theatre Group is directed by Gira Derise Weaver, musically directed by Stephanie Mangioglu and Rich Lovallo, and choreographed by Terese Opiela.
