"Motownphilly" returns to Resorts Casino Hotel this fall when Philadelphia's own Grammy Award winning artists Boyz II Men perform in the Superstar Theater, Saturday, November 20, 2010.

Boyz II Men not only formed in 1988, but also created their own clean-cut "retro nouveau" image. The group's rapid rise to stardom can be attributed to its knack for synchronized dance routines, polished stage act, and overall presence. Between 1992 and 1997, Boyz II Men recorded five Number One Pop hits and 12 Top-10 R&B singles, sold more than 60 million records worldwide, and earned a host of awards including four Grammy Awards.

Boyz II Men signed to Motown Records in 1991. Soon after, the group released its debut album Cooleyhighharmony. A music staple of the nineties, Cooleyhighharmony, helped coin the phrase "hip-hop doo-wop." The album spun off three major crossover hits: "Motownphilly," "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday," and "Uhh Ahh." With Cooleyhighharmony, Boyz II Men earned their first Grammy Award - for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.

In 1994, Boyz II Men released its second album, simply titled II. The album topped the Billboard chart for five weeks and won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Album. In addition it sold over 12 million copies thanks to its two Number One Pop singles, "I'll Make Love to You" (also a long-running R&B Number One) and "On Bended Knee," both certified platinum.

More recently the group recorded and compiled an assortment of songs. In 2007 the "Men" collaborated with producer Randy Jackson who helped bring their special brand of musical magic to 12 all-time Motown hits. Songs include Marvin Gaye's "Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology)," Smokey Robinson & The Miracles' "The Tracks of My Tears," The Temptations' "Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)," Edwin Starr's "War," and the Stevie Wonder favorites "I Was Made to Love Her" and "Ribbon In The Sky." The album closes with a new recording of the record-breaking Boyz II Men hit "End Of The Road," produced by superstar Brian McKnight, who also sings on the track.
Boyz II Men will perform in the Superstar Theater Saturday, November 20 at 8 p.m. Tickets are priced at $50 & $40 and can be purchased at Resorts' Box Office, by calling Ticketmaster at 1.800.745.3000 or by logging onto www.ticketmaster.com or www.resortsac.com.
