ReVision Theatre of Asbury Park Presents THE BIKINIS 8/12-22
ReVision Theatre of Asbury Park is proud to announce the Broadway veteran cast of actresses in the new musical The Bikinis! Annie Golden (Xanadu, Hair, The Full Monty), Cheryl Freeman (The Who's Tommy, The Civil War, Play On!), Kathy Morath (Nick & Nora, The Pirates of Penzance), and Karyn Quackenbush (Imaginary Friends, Annie Get Your Gun) have all signed on for The World Premiere of The Bikinis written by Ray Roderick, James Hindman and Joe Baker and Directed by Ray Roderick. The Bikinis will run August 12 - 22 at The Carousel House located on the boardwalk in Asbury Park. Performances are Wednesday through Saturday at 8 pm and Sundays at 7 pm.
The Bikinis is sure to bring theatre goers down memory lane and have them dancing in the aisles! It's the new millennium and The Bikinis are getting back together. That girl group from the sixties that everyone loves is bringing back the sun, fun and all the great songs they sang down on the boardwalk at the Jersey Shore. In front of a live audience, The Bikinis, or "The Jersey Girls," relive their heyday and beyond, beginning the summer of 1964, the night these four inseparable girls got their name, winning the Belmar Beach Talent Contest, wearing their bikinis! The boardwalk was smitten with the 4 teens... Jodi (Kathy Morath) and Annie (Annie Golden), two sisters from Passaic New Jersey; Karla (Karyn Quackenbush), their slightly manipulative first cousin from Philly; and best friend Barbara (Cheryl Freeman), from Staten Island. The most popular summertime songs such as "Under the boardwalk", "Danny Boy", "Polka Dot Bikini", "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and "These Boots are Made for Walkin" and many, many more, are featured in this buoyant new musical.
