The Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO)'s SaturdayEvening POPS! concert returns with Silver Screen Salute II on Saturday, February 6, at 8 pm, at Richardson Auditorium on the campus of Princeton University. Hosted and conducted by movie industry insider Lucas Richman and guest starring Broadway singer Jessica Hendy, the program spotlights iconic and popular music of movies including "Parade of the Charioteers" from Ben Hur, music from Psycho, John Williams' "Shark Theme" from Jaws, "Can You Read My Mind?" from Superman, and his original Star Wars score, plus James Newton Howard's award-winning score from The Village, showcasing PSO concertmaster Basia Danilow. As a nod to the PSO's season celebrating the creativity of women, the orchestra is performing Rachel Portman's suite from Chocolat and Kristen Anderson-Lopez' collaboration on "Let it go" from Frozen.

Grammy Award-winner Lucas Richman has collaborated with numerous film composers as their conductor, recording scores for such films as the Academy Award-nominated The Village (with violinist, Hilary Hahn), As Good As It Gets, Face/Off, Se7en, Breakdown, The Manchurian Candidate and Kit Kittredge: An American Girl; in 2010, John Williams invited him to lead the three-month national summer tour of Star Wars in Concert. Recent recordings he has led from the podium include Symphony of Hope: The Haiti Project (a project from within the film music community that has generated over $200K in donations), Noel Paul Stookey's recent solo album One & Many, and Marvin Hamlisch's final score, written for the Emmy Award-winning HBO movie Behind the Candelabra. He received a Grammy Award (2011) in the category of Best Classical Crossover Album for having conducted the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra on Christopher Tin's classical/world fusion album, Calling All Dawns.

Guest vocalist Jessica Hendy's Broadway credits include Cats (Grizabella), Aida (Amneris), and Amour. Last spring she made her Radio City Music Hall debut in The New York Spring Spectacular, alongside the world famous Rockettes. She has toured nationally and in Canada with Cats (Grizabella) and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Narrator). In New York, she received rave reviews for her one woman cabaret A Life To Call Your Own and a Bistro Award for the review Get Your Tickets Now. NYC Pre-Broadway workshops include Dance of the Vampires, AIDA, and The Molly Maguires. She is a regular guest singer at Feinstein's 54 Below in New York, a premier supper club housed in the old Studio 54.

In advance of the Saturday Evening POPS! concert, the PSO once again partners with the Princeton Garden Theatre with a presentation of the film musical An American in Paris on Thursday, January 28, at 7:30 pm; tickets to the movie can be purchased from the theatre at princetongarden.org. An American in Paris Suite will be performed at the February 6 concert in a build-up to the PSO's annual Gala celebrating Gershwin in Paris in April.

Saturday Evening POPS! is made possible through the support of Edward E. Matthews and Vilma Keri, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Paneyko, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood W. Phares, and Mr. and Mrs. John Steffens.
