No Peeking Presents Timely Absurd Satire WE HAVE STANDARDS
No Peeking Theatre takes its first swing at social change through a refreshing original comedy!
We Have Standards is a poignant absurd satire written by Allie Kroeper. The play centers around Clarissa introducing her new fiance to her parents Mary and Mark. The plot thickens based on one simple caveat: Clarissa's soon-to-be husband is named Steve, the name of the sworn "enemy" of Mary and Mark.
Experience this absurd comedy that discusses discrimination, stereotypes, blind hatred and true love in a hilarious way. Allie Kroeper covers several aspects of intersectional oppression and even the origins and functions of system of prejudice and marginalization through simple an even absurd means. "Allie does an amazing job at not only touching the issues that are relevant and important, but she cracks me the hell up with her vessels for delivery. I am so lucky to have this play written by such a hilarious playwright," said director Amanda Levie.
