New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera Nominated Favorite Opera Company

The New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera announces its nomination for Favorite Opera Company in the 2019 JerseyArts.com People's Choice Awards. The annual awards program, overseen by Discover Jersey Arts, observes its eleventh year honoring the work of New Jersey's vibrant and diverse arts organizations.

Art enthusiasts complete and cast their votes easily online. Voters are not limited to New Jersey. Patrons may reside anywhere in the universe and vote for their favorite arts organizations.

"The People's Choice Award is a great honor. We are incredibly grateful the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera is nominated again this year," states Met Opera legend Lucine Amara, Artistic Director of the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera.

"We encourage opera and arts patrons to support Verismo Opera and other arts organizations throughout the state by voting in the 2019 awards competition. Winning the award would give the company a distinctive place in the greater New Jersey cultural art scene," explains Amara.

The New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera joins other contenders in the 2019 People's Choice Awards nominated by their peers through the Jersey Arts Marketers network. Several hundred arts organizations all over the state comprise this extensive network. This year, 11 arts districts and 104 organizations compete in 19 categories. These categories include favorite opera company, music festival, art gallery, small theatre, and ballet company among others.

"The arts scene in New Jersey is reliably exciting and diverse," said Allison Tratner, Executive Director of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. "The thousands of passionate and loyal arts lovers who cast their votes each year is further proof there is truly something special for everyone."

Vote Online

Public voting began January 9 and runs through February 20, 2019. Art patrons vote online for their favorite cultural institutions at www.JerseyArts.com/Vote. Last year, they cast more than 18,000 ballots.
