Mile Square Theatre (MST), Hudson County's premiere professional theatre company, presents a limited run of the feel-good musical for young audiences A Year With Frog and Toad from today, October 5 through October 20 at the Monroe Theatrespace (located at 720 Monroe St. in Hoboken, 2nd Floor).

A Year With Frog and Toad by brothers Robert (music) and Willie Reale (book and lyrics), and based on the Frog and Toad children's stories written and illustrated by Arnold Lobel, follows the escapades of two amphibious friends - a lively frog and a fusspot toad - as they traipse through their woodland home with an assortment of colorful leaping, creeping and soaring cohorts, over the course of a year. Originally presented on Broadway, A Year With Frog and Toad, features an amusing and sometimes moving collection of tales set to a distinctly vaudeville score, and is sure to entertain both youngsters and adults alike.

"We're thrilled to be producing this gentle musical comedy as our fourth annual production for young audiences," says Chris O'Connor, MST's Artistic Director. "We've gained a reputation for producing all types of quality theatre, and our family productions are extremely popular. Last year's Go, Dog. Go! broke box office records. It's always a delight to see young families share the thrill of Live Theatre, and Frog and Toad will please audiences of all ages."

Mile Square Theatre, called "...the treasure of Hoboken," by Peter Filichia in the Star-Ledger, has cast Andrew Baldwin (MST's Twelve Night) and newcomer Matt Bittner as the main characters, and an ensemble lead by veteran New York performer and tapper Oren Korenblum, and the dynamic triple-threat talents of Mollie Downes and Rachel Darby. Karen Babcock, who honed her own singing and dancing skills on Broadway (Chess), directs the production.

A Year With Frog and Toad, produced by Mile Square Theatre at the Monroe Theatrespace (located at 720 Monroe Street in Hoboken, 2nd Floor), runs from October 5 through October 20, Saturday at 2 pm and 5 pm, and Sunday at 11 am and 3 pm. Tickets are available at www.milesquaretheatre.org, and at the Monroe Theatrespace box office, or by calling 201-683-7014 for reservations. Tickets are $22. Children and seniors, $12. Free parking is available behind the Monroe Arts Center.
