MCCC's Kelsey Theatre to Celebrate Highlights from Past Season at Kelsey Awards Image Community theater folks and their fans are in for a treat as Mercer County Community College's (MCCC's) Kelsey Theatre presents an evening of entertainment and awards on Saturday, Aug. 18, starting at 7 p.m. "The 2018 Kelsey Awards" will celebrate and recognize the best theatrical productions and performers from Kelsey Theatre's 2017-18 season. The theater is located on MCCC's West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

The Kelsey Awards are presented by the Kelsey Theatre Advisory Commission and K2KEntertainment. The show, which has been a summer highlight for nine years, will be emceed by popular New Jersey performer Mark Applegate of Trenton, NJ. Veteran performer Tom Bessellieu will receive The 2018 John Shanken-Kaye Lifetime Achievement Award.

"The Kelsey Awards give the Kelsey community the unique opportunity to relive great moments from the entire past season," said Kyrus Keenan Westcott, Producer and Director of The Kelsey Awards. "Heading into our ninth year, we're incredibly honored to continue the tradition of celebrating the theater we all call home - Kelsey Theatre."

This high-energy evening will feature performances from 2017-18 productions including "42nd Street," "Dogfight," "Fiddler on the Roof," "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," "Titanic: The Musical," and "West Side Story." Also featured will be special preview performances from the coming year: "Disney's Newsies," which kicks off the season Sept. 6 to 16, "American Idiot" (Oct. 5 to 14); and "A Christmas Story: The Musical" (Nov. 16 to Dec. 2).

In July, Kelsey Theatre fans voted on the nominees; a second round of voting takes place in early August to determine the winners. To view the 2018 nominees, visit www.TheKelseyAwards.com. Winners will be announced during the ceremony.
