Lisa Capps to Star in Hoboken Children's Theater's CARRIE THE MUSICAL, 11/22-24
Hoboken Children's Theater Company, composed of talented performers high school through adult, will present CARRIE THE MUSICAL, starring Lisa Capps as Carrie's mother Margaret. Ms. Capps holds the distinction of being the only actress in history to have portrayed all three female principal roles-Cosette, Eponine and Fantine-in the Broadway show Les Miserables. Her numerous other credits include Miss Saigon and Tommy.
CARRIE THE MUSICAL, featuring a combination of beautiful ballads and pop rock pieces, tells the ultimate bullying story. Carrie White is a misfit. At school, she's tormented by the popular crowd and ignored by everyone else. At home, she's at the mercy of her loving but disturbed mother. But Carrie has just discovered she has a special power-and if pushed too far, she's not afraid to use it.
CARRIE THE MUSICAL is directed and choreographed by HCT founder Chase Leyner, with musical direction by Caleb Damschroder (Miss Saigon, Phantom). The show, based on Stephen King's bestselling novel, features a book by Lawrence D. Cohen (screenwriter of the classic Brian De Palma film), music by Academy Award winner Michael Gore (Fame, Terms of Endearment), and lyrics by Academy Award winner Dean Pitchford (Fame, Footloose).
