New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents an evening with Antoinette Montague. Spend Valentine's Day with your special loved one at Dorthaan's Place, where the jazz brunch series hosts Newark-born vocalist Antoinette Montague, a jazz singer who moves effortlessly between gutsy blues and hushed romantic ballads.

"Her sound is smooth with a soulful edge," says Jersey Jazz. "Montague never gets tied up with vocal excesses - she's emphatic when she needs to be, and tender at the appropriate moments."

At The Antoinette Montague Experience Presents World Peace and Love in the Key of Jazz, Blues and Beyond, count on hearing an original program with fantastic twists on the music of John Lennon, Clara Ward and Pete Seeger and more music to love, accompanied by Montague's triple ace musicians.

Montague has performed internationally, at such venues as Lincoln Center, the Blue Note, with orchestras in Russia, Israel and South Korea, and at Birdland, with the Duke Ellington Band, as well as with such internationally renowned musicians as cornetist Warren Vaché and guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli.

"Jazz players love to accompany a genuine jazz singer, and Antoinette Montague is as real as they come," says Jazz Times.

This intimate jazz brunch is curated and hosted by WBGO programmer Dorthaan Kirk, Newark's "First Lady of Jazz." A sumptuous buffet brunch, including an omelet station and a medley of desserts, is served at NICO Kitchen + Bar at 11am and 1pm, with performances scheduled at 11:30am and 1:30pm.
