JERSEY BOYS Star John Lloyd Young to Perform at amfAR Bucks County Cabaret

Tony Award winner John Lloyd Young, the original star of the hit Broadway show Jersey Boys, will perform at the sixth annual Bucks County Cabaret to benefit amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, on September 25.
Young will be accompanied by American Idol pianist, arranger, and associate musical director Michael Orland at the event in a restored barn in Pipersville, Pa. Also, for the first time, there will be a traditionAl Hunt-style breakfast the day of the performance at Cherryfields, an estate in Peapack, N.J."I've been working with AIDS charities since I was on Broadway, charities that mainly dealt with social services for people living with HIV/AIDS," Young said. "But what drew me specifically to amfAR is the strong focus on research and finding a cure."Now in its sixth year, amfAR's Bucks County Cabaret event has raised tens of thousands of dollars to help amfAR and the fight against HIV/AIDS, and the event continues to grow as it attracts donors from around the Northeast. To date, Philadelphia and Bucks County donors have contributed more than $3.4 million to amfAR, and amfAR has invested more than $4 million in grants and fellowships to more than 80 Philadelphia-area researchers.amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, is one of the world's leading nonprofit organizations dedicated to the support of AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education, and the advocacy of sound AIDS-related public policy.
