HEATHERS THE MUSICAL AT THE OPEN AIR THEATRE FOR ONE WEEKEND

Hilarity and homicide are center stage when Heathers the Musical comes to the Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre for one weekend. Based on the classic 1989 cult film, "Heathers" starring Winona Rider and Christian Slater, the darkly delicious musical will be performed on Friday, July 29, Saturday, July 30 and Sunday, July 31 at 7:30. Presented by the alumni of the Downtown Performing Arts Center of Lambertville, N.J., Heathers the Musical is for mature audiences.

Created by the award-winning team of Laurence O'Keefe, Kevin Murphy and Andy Fickman, Heathers the Musical is a moving love story, laugh-out-loud comedy and unflinching look at the joys and anguish of high school. Westerberg High is ruled by the Heathers, three girls namEd Heather, the hottest and cruelest girls in all of Ohio. Veronica Sawyer, a brainy, beautiful teenage misfit hustles her way into the ruthless clique but ultimately rejects their evil regime for a new boyfriend, the dark and sexy stranger J.D., who plans to put the Heathers in their place - six feet under.

For over 15 years, the Downtown Performing Arts Center (DPAC) of Lambertville, N.J. has been providing performing arts training in musical theatre, acting, and dance for kids and young adults throughout Bucks and Hunterdon counties. Many of DPAC's students have continued their theatrical training into their college years and have performed and worked professionally in the performing arts throughout the country. The cast of Heathers the Musical is comprised of members of DPAC's alumni including Caity MacNeill as Veronica Sawyer, Emily Cobb as Heather M., Kierceton Keller as Heather C. and Adrianna Marino as Heather D. The musical is directed and choreographed by JorDan Brennan.

The Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre production of Heathers the Musical will be performed on Friday, July 29, Saturday, July 30 and Sunday, July 31 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children (ages 12 and under) and $12 for seniors (ages 65 and older.) Tickets can always be purchased at the Open Air Theatre box office a half-hour prior to the performance. Group discounts are available.

DISNEY'S CINDERELLA KIDS NEXT OFFERING IN CHILDREN'S THEATRE SEASON AT THE WASHINGTON CROSSING OPEN AIR THEATRE

A Disney classic makes a return to the Open Air Theatre stage when Disney's Cinderella Kids begins a two weekend run. The musical will be performed on Friday and Saturday at 11 am andSunday at 4 pm, from Friday, July 29 through Sunday, August 7, 2016.

Poor Cinderella is endlessly mistreated by her wicked stepmother and stepsisters, and denied a chance to go to the Royal Ball. With a little help from her mice friends, and a lot of help from her Fairy Godmother, Cinderella goes to the ball, meets the Prince, and falls in love! With a beautiful score including "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" and the classic "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo," this musical is full of charm and reminds the audience that dreams really can come true.

The Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre production of Disney's Cinderella Kids will be performed on Friday, July 29 at 11 am, Saturday, July 30 at 11 am and Sunday, July 31 at 4 pm. A second week of performances will take place on Friday, August 5 at 11 am, Saturday, August 6 at 11 am and Sunday, August 7 at 4 pm. Tickets are $5 for children or adults and can always be purchased at the Open Air Theatre box office prior to the performance.
