The Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company is partnering with The Henry Sawyer Inn and The Vanilla Bean Creamery to offer a delightful event for the whole family, "Two Scoops and a Story," on Tuesday, June 28 from 3:00p.m.-4:00p.m. at the Inn, located at 722 Columbia Avenue, Cape May.

For twenty-seven years, ELTC has presented its popular "Tales of the Victorians" once a week during the summer season, at a variety of Cape May locations. Last year, Barbara Morris, owner of The Henry Sawyer Inn and her sister, Jane, came up with the idea of serving homemade ice cream and cookies at their "Tales" presentation. Dishing up her own delicious ice cream is Jo Ann Assenheimer, owner of The Vanilla Bean Creamery, located at 958 Route 109, at the end of The Garden State Parkway, right before the bridge headed into Cape May. To accommodate others' schedules, this special "Tales" is not on the usual Thursday at 4:00p.m.

While guests enjoy these tasty treats, ELTC's artistic director Gayle Stahlhuth will read selections from Louisa May Alcott's "Little Woman." In 1980, Gayle began performing her own one-person play about Alcott throughout the country, including at The Smithsonian Institution, Arvada Center for the Arts in Colorado, and at the Alcott home in Concord, MA. The last time she performed "Lou: The Remarkable Miss Alcott" was as part of ELTC's mainstage season in 2007.

To make reservations, call The Henry Sawyer Inn at 609-884-5667 or e-mail henrysawyerinn@verizon.net. Tickets are only $12 for adults and $6 for ages 12 and under. All proceeds go to benefit the not-for-profit ELTC.

On the mainstage at ELTC is "Rodgers' Romance," a revue of songs by Rodgers, Hart, and Hammerstein, running Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8:30p.m. For reservations call 884-5898, e-mail eastlynneco@aol.com, or visit www.eastlynnetheater.org.

The regular schedule of Thursdays at 4:00p.m. for "Tales of the Victorians" is prior to and after our "Two Scoops and a Story." Part of this schedule includes June 23 at The Blue Rose Inn and July 7 at The Chalfonte Hotel, with Stephanie Garrett and Lee O'Connor performing.
