ELTC's 24rd Season of 'Tales of the Victorians' Begins 6/13

The award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company's popular "Tales of the Victorians" returns for its twenty-fourth year! Take tea at one of Cape May's finest inns or tea shops, indulge in homemade tasty treats, and listen to stories by famous American authors, like O. Henry and Louisa May Alcott, all for only $10.00. Children are always welcome, and, like other East Lynne events, ages 12 and under are free.

Back again to perform are several ELTC favorites, including Stephanie Garrett, Lee O'Connor, Michele LaRue, Suzanne Longacre, Hope Gaines, and Gayle Stahlhuth.

The summer schedule is every Thursday at 4:00p.m., beginning on June 13, except there will be no "Tales" onThursday, July 4. The first location is The Butterfly Tea Room, 109 Sunset Boulevard, with ELTC's artistic director, Gayle Stahlhuth, performing the reading. She was one of the first actors employed for "Tales of the Victorians" when the series first began, and 2013 marks her fifteenth year as helming ELTC where she has produced over seventy different productions, directing over half of them.

If you miss "Tales" on June 13, there are other dates and locations from which to choose: June 20: The Dormer House, 800 Columbia Avenue; June 27: The Inn of Cape May, 7 Ocean Street; July 11: The Chalfonte Hotel, 301 Howard Street;July 18: The Peter Shields Inn, 1301 Beach Avenue; July 25: The Cliveden Inn, 709 Columbia Avenue; Aug. 1: The Victorian Lace Inn, 901 Stockton Avenue; Aug. 8: The Inn of Cape May, 7 Ocean Street; Aug. 15: Peter Shields Inn, 1301 Beach Avenue; Aug. 22: Victorian Lace Inn, 901 Stockton Avenue; Aug. 29: Blue Rose Inn and Restaurant, 653 Washington Street; Sat. Oct. 12: The Cliveden Inn, 709 Columbia Avenue.

During the fall, the day switches to Saturday, with the following date and location so far: Oct. 12 at The Cliveden Inn, 709 Columbia Avenue.

Meanwhile, ELTC's mainstage season opens with the New Jersey premiere of "Lost on the Natchez Trace" written by Jan Buttram. In the cast are Tom Byrn, Leon Morgan, and Stephanie Garrett, directed by Gayle Stahlhuth. It runs fromJune 12-July 20 at 8:30p.m. at The First Presbyterian Church, 500 Hughes Street, where the company is in residence. There is an after-show, opening-night party at Pier House Restaurant.
