Damon Wayans Comes To Resorts Casino Hotel's Superstar Theater in A.C, 6/26

Film, television, and celebrated stand-up comedic star Damon Wayans returns to Resorts Casino Hotel's Superstar Theater in Atlantic City on Saturday, June 26.

Wayans is one of 10 siblings, several of whom are also stars in the entertainment industry. The New York City-born Wayans grew up in economically challenged conditions and suffered from a clubfoot, which brought much derision and ridicule from others. Through medical treatments, his condition was corrected, but some suggest that growing up with the clubfoot helped Wayans develop and sharpen his sense of humor as a way to counter those who would mock him.

He dropped out of high school in ninth grade, and eventually made his way out west. Keenan Ivory Wayans, his older brother, was in Hollywood working the comedy circuit. Damon gave it a shot in 1982, and had immediate success. He toured the country and even landed a spot on "Saturday Night Live." The SNL stint would be short-lived, however. But success continued in the form of films, landing his first role in "Beverly Hills Cop," Eddie Murphy's 1984 hit. More roles followed in major movies such as "Roxanne," "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka," "Punchline," "The Last Boy Scout," and many others.

Damon Wayans is perhaps best known from the many characters he played on the cutting-edge sketch comedy show "In Living Color" along with several of his siblings. Future mega-star Jim Carrey was also part of the cast.
