Cape May Stage Voted Best Equity Theatre in South Jersey
Cape May Stage is pleased to announce that they've been recently named the best Equity Theatre in South Jersey! This recognition, bestowed by the people of New Jersey, is from Discover Jersey Arts, a project cosponsored by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and the ArtPride New Jersey Foundation. In their annual People's Choice Awards, Cape May Stage was voted the #3 Equity theatre in the state of New Jersey - it was the voting of fans throughout the state that garnered this high esteem!
Cape May Stage was also voted high in the rankings for Favorite Arts/Theatre Camp for their "Summer SHAKESPEAREience"! Geared toward students of theatre aged 9 to 18, this past summer's theatre camp culminated in a production of The Tempest, designed, acted and performed entirely by Cape May Stage's extraordinarily talented group of students.
Regarding these achievements, Artistic Director Roy Steinberg says, "We are so thankful that the People's Choice Awards voted us the top Equity theatre in South Jersey and in the top three in the entire state! Our patrons have a passion for the work that goes on at Cape May Stage that rivals much larger and wealthier theaters. It is their commitment and support that helps us grow into a theater of national visibility!"
Cape May Stage is fully aware that there is only one group to thank for these accolades - their loyal and dedicated fan base. If you haven't had the chance to experience all that Cape May Stage has to offer, see their website at www.capemaystage.com for details about their upcoming 2011 season.
