Buzz Theatre Productions to Launch with NEXT TO NORMAL, 3/6-7

By:

Buzz Theatre Productions will present "Next to Normal" for its inaugural production. Performances will take place on Friday, March 6th and Saturday, March 7th at 8pm at Old Paramus Reformed Church (660 E. Glen Avenue) in Ridgewood, NJ. The rock and roll musical, which features book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey and music by Tom Kitt, deals with a mother who struggles with worsening bipolar disorder and the effect that her illness and the attempts to alleviate it have on her family. The musical also addresses such issues as grieving a loss, suicide, drug abuse, ethics in modern psychiatry, and the underbelly of suburban life.

"Next to Normal" was the winner of three 2009 Tony Awards including Best Musical Score and the 2010 Pulitzer Prize, it was also chosen as "one of the year's ten best shows" by critics around the country, including The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, Rolling Stone and The New York Times. Note: contains adult language and themes.

The production stars Randi Seffinger as Diana, Anthony Crouchelli as Gabe, Matthew Haines as Dan, Anna Ventor as Natalie, Bobby Snyder as Henry, and Brendan Joel Bartlett as Dr. Madden. It is directed by Reegan McKenzie with Greg Paradis as Musical Director, Sophia Voglino as Stage Manager, and Ryan Seffinger as Pit Orchestra Manager.

Tickets are $25 adults/$22 students/seniors.

Buzz Theatre Productions was created in 2014 by two friends, Jo Ann Ventor and Randi Seffinger, who share a love of theatre and a passion for intense and unique works. Randi and Jo Ann have collaborated on numerous theatrical projects and founded Buzz to be a natural extension of their complimentary talents. It has truly been a team effort - family members have also been instrumental in the company, using their knowledge of performance, music, lighting and sound design and set construction and design. We look forward to many exciting things to come and hope you will join us on our journey!
