Bucky Pizzarelli to Kick Off the New Year at the Morris Museum

The Morris Museum kicks-off the New Year with exciting public programs and performances. On Monday, January 9th, the Museum will host a special concert honoring jazz great Bucky Pizzarelli.

Other programming includes the opening of the Gothic comedy Ravenscroft, written by Don Nigro and co-produced by Drew University, and a lecture on Hollywood by Rick Busciglio.

Bucky Pizzarelli's Birthday Bash

At 91 years old, legendary Guitar Master Bucky Pizzarelli continues to make great music. His protégé, Ed Laub (guitar) will once again join him to celebrate Bucky's Birthday Bash 2017. These two guitar virtuosos will not be alone in this year's celebration. Bucky's son, Martin Pizzarelli will return on bass. Konrad Paskudzki (piano) will take the seat behind our concert grand. Born in Western Australia, Konrad spent years playing piano with the likes of the Clayton/Hamilton Jazz Orchestra and the Jeff Hamilton Trio. In 2013, he joined the Johnny Pizzarelli Quartet. Also on the stage will be Dag Markus (drums) and one of New York City's most sought-after clarinetists and saxophonists, Linus Wyrsch. This birthday party promises to be one of the best!

Tea and Treasures: Memories of Broadway and Hollywood

Rick Busciglio will be your guide for a nostalgic tour of personal stories about Hollywood and Broadway, drawing on more than 45 years in broadcasting and entertainment business. His tales feature great stars from the past and present including Cary Grant, Frank Sinatra, Miss Piggy, and Mary Tyler Moore.

This program continues Tea and Treasures, a popular monthly series that features engaging lectures, great conversation, and light refreshments. Advance registration required.

Ravenscroft

On a snowy night, Inspector Ruffing is called to a remote house to investigate the headlong plunge of Patrick Roarke down the main staircase. Five alluring and dangerous women hold all the cards and all the answers: Marcy, the beautiful Viennese governess; Mrs. Ravenscroft, the flirtatious lady of the manor; Gillian, her charming but possibly demented daughter; Mrs. French, the formidable and passionate cook, and Dolly, a terrified maid. Ghosts on the staircase and skeletons in the closet intensify this comic psychological thriller with a twist.
