By:

You don't have to travel all the way to NYC in order to hear songs from theatre, jazz, Great American and International Song Books and classical stages performed by award-winning singers & instrumentalists. At Classic Quiche in Teaneck, NJ on the last Friday of each month, through November, Broadway Concerts Direct presents top performers in a cozy, intimate salon type setting, with an eclectic mix of musical styles and delicious food. -- All in one evening! "Imported" by Broadway Concerts Direct producer, John Hiller, BCD is hoping to turn this into an ongoing Salon series of musical treasures.

The Concerts will play Fridays at 7:30 p.m., tonight, Sept 28, Oct 26 and Nov 30, 2012. (doors open at 7:00pm). The events will star Sarah Rice (original Johanna, SWEENEY TODD, 2011 MAC Award, 2010 Bistro Award) and David Vernon (International Recording Artist), with special guests Rich Flanders (SHENANDOAH, ANNIE 2, Will Rogers Cowboy Award, Best Song), Joanna Morton Gary, Mark Planner and other special surprise guests.

Accompaniment features Matthew Martin Ward on piano, Jim Russell on recorder, Jonathan Russell on jazz violin and Eve Weiss on classical Guitar. NOTE: Performers subject to change without notice.

Sarah Rice, the winner of the 2010 Bistro Award and 2011 MAC Award (Best Female Vocalist), is also an opera singer with many impressive performing and stage credits. She was the original Johanna in Broadway's "Sweeney Todd" with Angela Lansbury, which won multiple Tonys and a Grammy and won Sarah a Theatre World Award. Sarah has performed in concert, shows and operas all around the world. For more about Rice, visit www.SarahRice.com.

This is an affordable evening of delicious food and exquisite music for the whole family. Each performance is is different.

BCD brings a different mix of performers every time from Manhattan. 20 of our performers were nominated for MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs) Awards and 10 received awards. The singers and instrumentalists regularly perform in Clubs and theaters in Manhattan and internationally. The Cast mingles with the audience during the intermission. The performers all choose their own songs, resulting in an interesting eclectic mix of styles. It is all about the professional, world-class level artists performing what they love, and including the audience in the adventure.
