Bellarine to Present DOGFIGHT

Set in the early 1960's, three young marines, Eddie Birdlace and his two best friends Bernstein and Boland, or as they like to be called the "Three B's", are fresh out of training and about to be deployed into the small but growing war in Vietnam. These "Three B's" consider this war a calling for heroes, and picture themselves returning for a 'Hometown Hero's Ticker Tape Parade'. Rambunctious, fearless, and bloated with confidence, these three best friends set out to enjoy one last boy's night, waging a cruel and heartless bet on who can get the homeliest date. Yet when Eddie Birdlace meets Rose, an awkward and practical waitress, this despicable game becomes less amusing. Speckled with humor, love, and tragedy, Dogfight takes it's audience on a heart breaking and intense journey that changes even the strongest warriors.

Dogfight will take place at the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences (120 Long Beach Boulevard in Loveladies, NJ) with performances May 19-21 at 7:00pm and May 22 at 3:00pm. Bellarine will be offering a post-performance talk-back after Friday's show.

Directed by Jessica Huch, the cast includes: AJ Mendini (Eddie Birdlace), Ian Mullin (Bernstein), Chris Huch (Boland), Liam McGettigan (Fector), Mitchell Todd (Stevens/Lounge Singer), Gavin Cranmer (Gibbs), Caitlin Hughes (Rose Fenny), Melinda Gioe (Marcy), and an ensemble featuring Lisa Carlson, Stacy Cranmer, Maddie Ernst, Jenny Stodd, and Adam Urato.
