Bellarine Theatre Company kicks off their 2014 season with "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee", opening March 14th, 2014. This will mark Bellarine's fourth year and first full season and a new partnership with the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences (LBIF). After 66 years of rich artistic history, this year marks the first that will feature live theatre with Spelling Bee, Dorothy Meets Alice and Bat Boy to be performed at the LBIF this season.

The performers in Spelling Bee range from seasoned professionals to educators and students. We are very excited to present such a vibrant and diverse cast to our audience. Actors making their Bellarine debut include Jenna Kuerzi (Logainne), Jim McCabe (Panch), Nicole Picinic (Ms. Peretti), Maddie Ernst (Marcy), Mike McEntee (Mitch), and Jannah Tabbacchino (Olive). Familiar faces include Chris Huch (Leaf), A.J. Mendini (Chip), and Corey Smith (Barfee).

'Spelling Bee' is a musical featuring six young people and a few not-so-grown-up-grown-ups who learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't make you a loser. Jessica Evans, Bellarine's Artistic Director, said: "the audience will enjoy one of the biggest gut-busting musical comedies to come from Broadway in a long time, while a few lucky volunteers will become a part of the competition and take a trip back to the hilarity of our younger years."

Tickets to 'Spelling Bee' can be purchased online at www.bellarinetheatre.com/shows. The Bee is coming to LBIF March 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, & 23 at 7PM.
