American Repertory Ballet will open its Nutcracker season at Union County Performing Arts Center's Main Stage in Rahway, N.J. A holiday tradition for more than 50 years, American Repertory Ballet's Nutcracker is one of the longest, continuously running Nutcracker productions in the nation. The show will run in Rahway on Saturday, November 19 and Sunday, November 20. Tickets are currently available starting at $20.

On Sunday, November 20, for the second time annually, ARB will present its Sensory Friendly Production of Nutcracker. This abridged, one-hour, performance is especially for children and adults with special needs and is made possible by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders as part of the UC Sensory-Friendly Theatre series. Tickets are currently available for $8.

Also for the second time annually, local Rahway children will perform the roles of Mice in the performances at Union County Performing Arts Center as part of American Repertory Ballet's "Community Mice" initiative. Auditions were held in Rahway earlier this year, and six select young children have been rehearsing weekly both in Rahway with an American Repertory Ballet rehearsal director and alongside the professional company at their studios in Princeton.
