Seacoast Repertory Theater to Host Annual Fundraising Gala REP ON THE RIVER

Seacoast Repertory Theater is taking to the seas this year for their annual fundraising gala, Rep on The River.

On Sunday, October 4th at 5:30pm guests will set sail aboard the Thomas Laighton steamship for a night of dancing, performances, and a generous by Cartelli Catering and Portsmouth Gaslight. A silent and live auction with items donated by local businesses will benefit Seacoast Rep. The event will be hosted by Miles Burns, longtime Rep actor, director, teacher and Interim Artistic Director.

Cast members from this year' productions will entertain guests though out the evening. The critically-acclaimed Merrill Peiffer will re-embody her role as Patsy Cline from A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline. Audience favorite Jamie Bradley, will return as Nicely Nicely Johnson from Guys & Dolls, Seraphina Caliguire brings the Witch back to life from Into the Woods. Ben Hart and Chris Bradley, Nicky and Rod respectively, will make a guest appearance from Avenue Q, puppets and all.

The Seacoast community is invited to attend the Rep's largest fundraiser of the year. "Rep on the River is not just a fun evening supporting the arts, it's an opportunity for us to meet new friends and thank our supporters," remarked Gala Chairperson, Robin Lurie-Meyerkopf.

"Seacoast Rep has cause to celebrate this year. The theater is under new management, and produced a successful season that sold more tickets than in recent past seasons," said Brian Kelly, Director of Marketing & Development.

Kathleen Cavalaro, the new Executive Director of The Rep, reflects on the future. "Seacoast Rep has been hard at work rebuilding our development efforts and donor relations, in hopes of showing our gratitude with some very generous people and to appreciate the goodwill of our many supporters. We're looking forward to re-establishing the Rep as a regional theatre that elevates the art of our entire community", said Cavalaro.

The Thomas Laighton is part of The Isles of Shoals Steamship Company. It is a heated boat that docks in downtown Portsmouth. Guests should plan to arrive at 5:00pmto set sail by 5:30pm and arrive back in Portsmouth at around 8:30pm.

Sponsors of Rep on the River include Bondgarden Farms, Great Island Realty, Left Bank Films, Piscataqua Savings Bank, Sue & Bob Thoreson, The Woodland Group, and a friend of the Rep who chooses to remain anonymous.

This event is open to the public. A limited amount of tickets are $75 per person and $135 per couple. All tickets may be purchased through the box office at (603) 433-4793 or at www.seacoastrep.org.
