Screening of Beyonce's LEMONADE Will Be Held at The Hall at Great Falls

Feminist Oasis invites pop culture enthusiasts, members of the Bey-hive and Beyoncé skeptics alike to a one night only screening of Beyoncé's Lemonade, followed by a post-film panel discussion with renowned feminist scholars Dr. Aria Halliday and Dr. Courtney Marshall. The film screening and discussion will wrap into a dance party themed around Beyoncé's repertoire.

The event will be held 6:00pm - 10:00pm at The Hall at Great Falls, 49 Market Street, Somersworth, NH 03878. For tickets, visit FeministOasis.com.

Beyoncé's film/visual album Lemonade exploded into the public consciousness in April 2016 and immediately achieved viral pop-culture status. When Feminist Oasis screened it in January 2017 to a sold out crowd, most in the room had still not seen the iconic film in its entirety.

"Lemonade is both a universal commentary on betrayal, anger, self-love, grief and redemption, while also an incredibly personal story, specific to the artist's experience as a Black woman," says Crystal Paradis, community activist and founder of Feminist Oasis.

Reprising their roles as post-film panelists are: Dr. Aria S. Halliday, assistant professor of Africana feminisms in women's studies at the University of New Hampshire; and Dr. Courtney Marshall, professor of English at Phillips Exeter Academy and a Black feminist scholar, teacher, writer and activist - one is a card-carrying member of the Bey-hive, the other a Bey skeptic. Paradis will moderate the discussion, which includes audience Q&A.

The pop culture salon-turned-dance party will take place at Somersworth's historic Hall at Great Falls. The recently renovated former church boasts vaulted ceilings with stunning acoustics, and, perhaps most importantly for this special event, both a large movie screen and an expansive dance floor.

Included in ticket price is fresh-squeezed lemonade (straight-up or flavored) provided by Somersworth's own Teatotaller, a business member of Feminist Oasis. Head over to the cash bar to twist that lemonade into the perfect cocktail.
