Giacomo Puccini's masterpiece, TURANDOT was first presented in 1926 at Teatro alla Scala in Milan. The dazzling opera, set in China, comes to the Peterborough Players theatre this Saturday, January 30th at 1:00pm. The dazzling Metropolitan Opera production will be shown LIVE from New York's Lincoln Center on the Players' big hi-def digital screen.

Nina Stemme takes on the title role of the proud princess of ancient China, whose riddles doom every suitor who seeks her hand, opposite Marco Berti as Calàf, the brave prince who sings "Nessun dorma" and wins her love. Anita Hartig and Leah Crocetto share the role of Liù, the faithful slave girl. Franco Zeffirelli's golden production is conducted by Paolo Carignani.

The Peterborough Players' Arts on Screen series is presented in stunning NEC high definition digital projection and incomparable Dolby Surround Sound. The Met Live series is presented live from New York City's Lincoln Center. Met Live audiences also receive extras: insider interviews plus live behind-the-scenes video of the production.
