Live Broadcast from London of HAMLET at Peterborough Players

By:

The Peterborough Players' Arts on Screen 2015-2016 Series announces a very special event. William Shakespeare's HAMLET will be broadcast live from London's Barbican Theatre to the Peterborough Players on Thursday, October 15th at 2pm.

The story of HAMLET defines the term "classic." As a country arms itself for war, a family tears itself apart. Forced to avenge his father's death but paralyzed by the task ahead, Hamlet rages against the impossibility of his predicament, threatening both his sanity and the security of the state.

In the role of HAMLET is Benedict Cumberbatch, star of the BBC's Sherlock series and Oscar® nominated for his role as Alan Turing in The Imitation Game. HAMLET also stars Ciarán Hinds, British television, stage and screen star best known for his role in the Harry Potter film series.

This production has been sold out since is debuted in London in August. London's Daily Mail called Cumberbatch's performance, "electrifying." The Daily Telegraph wrote that director Lyndsey Turner and designer Es Devlin "have created a lavish, epic Hamlet for the Barbican's vast stage".

The Peterborough Players' Arts on Screen series is presented in stunning NEC high definition digital projection and incomparable Dolby® Surround Sound. This is third year the National Theatre Live series has been presented at the Peterborough Players.

HAMLET Live tickets are $20 each. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Box Office at 603-924-7585 or online at PlayersTix.com. Students (with proper ID) can purchase tickets (at the box office) for $15. The Players accepts MasterCard, Visa or American Express.

An encore presentation of HAMLET will be presented at the Players on October 25th at 1pm.

The Arts on Screen National Theatre Live series is sponsored by H&R Block.

The Peterborough Players Theatre is located at 55 Hadley Road in Peterborough, New Hampshire, approximately 90 minutes from Boston.
