VERDI's LA TRAVIATA
Opera in three acts by the Italian master Verdi, about the life of the coveted 'courtesan' Violetta. She lives there kind of loose, until she gets to know the romantic Parisian poet Alfredo. It is for the first time really in love and together they try to build a peaceful life in the country. His father, however, sees no merit in their relationship and Violetta bids to sever the relationship. She does and she grabs her old, dissolute lives, but is felled by tuberculosis. Adjust the two are reunited on her deathbed. Amor e morte (love and death), as famous and tragic opera story was originally called, is one of the most famous operas in the world. Classic performance by the Ukrainian State Opera and Ballet Theatre, sung in Italian with surtitles in Dutch.

Ukrainian State Opera and Ballet Theatre
The production is carried out by the Ukrainian State Opera and Ballet Theatre. The company, originating from Kharkov, is part of one of the oldest theaters in the former Soviet Union and the Ukraine. Since 1874 productions are made here and shown in the famous tradition of Eastern Europe. At the theater are about 700 people employed, including artists, set designers, costume designers, tailors and shoemakers; an impressive craft machine in which the productions of A to Z are given form.
