About the Play: The author of Daddy’s Dyin’ (Who’s Got the Will?) brings you a comedy that was nominated for over 30 awards during its long run in Los Angeles. Sordid Lives tells the story of Peggy, a good Christian woman who hits her head on the sink and bleeds to death after tripping over her lover’s wooden legs in a motel room, causing chaos in Winters, Texas.

Director's Note: "Directing this production has been a pure joy. This cast has dedicated themselves to telling this meaningful story with hilarity and respect," says Erin-Grace Bailey.

Cast Highlights:

  • Steven Raimo as Brother Boy: "I'm so excited to be joining Playhouse 615's production of Sordid Lives. I've been a fan of this show, the movie, and the TV series for years, and have opened for Del Shores, the author, many times. Brother Boy's story is both hilarious and heartbreaking, and playing this character has been a dream come true for this super-fan."
  • Robert Coles as Wardell Owens: "As an out and proud gay man, portraying this character has been difficult at times, but intensely rewarding. Every night feels like a small therapy session, and we're healing each other on that stage. At the end of the day, we're all deserving of love and compassion, no matter your race, gender, class, or sexual orientation."
  • Ann Street-Kavanagh as LaVonda: The Managing Director of Playhouse 615 takes on the role of LaVonda in one of her funniest performances to date.

The cast also includes Mick Grayson, Diane Bearden, Connor Glen, Rich Moses, Nella Schwanekamp, Bel Stuart, Tiffany Vinson, and Abby Waddoups.

Join Playhouse 615 for a night of laughter and poignant storytelling. Sordid Lives is a comedy that tackles difficult subject matters with humor and heart, promising audiences an unforgettable experience.
