The educational tasting series, "The Art of" closes out its second year with "The Art of Corsair Distillery" on Thursday, April 5th at 6:00 p.m. at the historic War Memorial Auditorium.

In the "The Art of" series, local experts guide an informative and educational tasting highlighting the history, use and unique flavors of each featured product. "The Art of Corsair Distillery" is the third and final installment of the series that launched in October 2011 with "The Art of Jack Daniels" and "The Art of Yazoo Brewery."

Tickets are $30. Purchase online at www.tpac.org/theartof, at the TPAC Box Office (505 Deaderick Street), or by calling (615) 782-4040. This is a 21 and over event, and ID will be required for entry. All proceeds will benefit TPAC's Education programs.

At "The Art of Corsair Distillery," patrons will discover the Corsair Artisan Distillery, a small craft sprits company with distilleries in Bowling Green, Kentucky and Nashville, founded by Nashville natives Darek Bell and Andrew Webber. Known for their very small batches of spirits (just a few cases at a time, in pot stills) with everything being done by hand (from production to bottling), Corsair is able to provide spirits: Vanilla Bean Vodka, Spiced Rum, Red Absinthe, Wry Moon Unaged Rye Whiskey, and more. At this event, attendees will taste some of Corsair's latest batches and learn recipes to make tasty cocktails.

Webber will guide a tasting of Corsair's artisan spirits that will also include food pairings, cocktails, tips on how to stock your own home bar, and more. Featured Corsair spirits are: Vanilla Bean Vodka, Spiced Rum, Gin, Triple Smoked Whiskey, Red Absinthe, and a bourbon not yet released to the general public.

"The Art of" series is sponsored by Lipman Brothers, Brown-Forman, Yazoo Brewery, Corsair Distillery, and Lightning 100.
