THE MUSIC MAN to Play Center for the Arts, 4/10-26
The Center for the Arts is proud to present Meredith Wilson's The Music Man.
There's trouble in River City when a fast-talking salesman gets his heart stolen by the town librarian. By turns wicked, funny, warm, romantic and touching, The Music Man is family entertainment at its best. Meredith Wilson's six-time, TONY Award winning musical comedy has been entertaining audiences since 1957 and is a family-friendly story to be shared with every generation.
The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band he vows to organize - this despite the fact he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain's fall.
Performance times are April 10-26, Friday-Sundays. Evening shows are on Friday and Saturdays at 7:30pm. Sunday matinees are at 2:00pm. Tickets are available online at www.boroarts.org, at the Center's box office located at 110 W. College Street, or by calling 615.904.2787. Tickets prices are $15 for adults, $13 for seniors/students/military, and $11 for children. A discount of $2 per ticket is applied to groups of 10 or more.
