Becky Buller & Sam Bush Release New Music Video for "The Rebel and the Rose"

By:

Becky Buller & Sam Bush Release New Music Video for Becky Buller and the good folks at Dark Shadow Recording have announced the release of a music video featuring special guest artist, Sam Bush. "The Rebel And The Rose," co-written by Buller, appears on her latest album, Crepe Paper Heart, which was produced by Stephen Mougin.

Fiery-haired fiddler, Buller takes a turn on clawhammer banjo for "The Rebel And The Rose," which has been nominated for IBMA Recorded Event Of The Year. This is just one of the eight nominations Becky has received, giving her the most nominations in the 2018 awards, which will be announced in September during the annual World of Bluegrass event in Raleigh, NC.

With its reference to a soldier and his beloved navigating love and loss amid the turmoil of civil war, "The Rebel And The Rose" is a period piece. It is equally poignant, however, as a contemporary story about choices, desperation, consequences ... and the redemptive power of love. The tender message within is quite fitting for contemporary life; a commentary on things that tear us apart and things that bring us together ... and how quite often, the tearing apart or joining together is a choice of the heart, separate from any issue.

"This song is special to me on so many levels, from writing it with my dear friend, Tony Rackley, to recording it with my hero, Sam Bush," Becky says. "The message of hope in this song is timeless; not one of us is so broken that love can't mend us."

Crêpe Paper Heart features past and present members of the Becky Buller Band: Ned Luberecki (banjo); Professor Dan Boner (mandolin/guitar/vocals); Brandon Bostic (guitar); Daniel "Hulk" Hardin (bass/vocals); and Nate Lee (fiddle). In addition to Sam Bush, special guests include The Fairfield Four; Rob Ickes; Claire Lynch; Stephen and Jana Mougin; Frank Solivan; Rhonda Vincent; and Erin Youngberg (FY5).

Crêpe Paper Heart has consistently appeared in the Top 10 for radio airplay on the Bluegrass Today Airplay Charts and was the Number One on Roots Music Report for June. The album is the #1 album on The Bluegrass Unlimited National Bluegrass Survey for the month of August. It has also received overwhelmingly positive reviews for its powerful, original music.

Crêpe Paper Heart boasts a blend of secular and sacred songs written by Buller and co-writers Lynda Dawson ("John D. Champion"); Jeff Hyde of the Eric Church band ("Speakin' To That Mountain"); Sarah Majors ("Heart Of The House"); Tony Rackley ("The Rebel And The Rose"); Blue Highway's Tim Stafford ("Calamity Jane"); and Bobby Starnes ("Maybe"). One cover song, "Phoenix Arise," was written by Lisa Aschmann and Mark Simos.

"The Rebel And The Rose" music video premiered on The Bluegrass Situation and is now widely available on multiple video platforms.
