FOR IMMEDIATE WIDE RELEASE ACTORS COMBATANT COLLECTIVE
Brothers and sisters divided by past choices. Two fled, two remain. All want to change their future for the better, but motives are confused and feelings are hurt. When the four siblings reunite the question lingers: What are they willing to risk to get what they want?
The Actors Combatant Collective emerged organically, from four dedicated actor-combatants who met weekly in the studio to train their stage fight skills.
United by their shared devotion to the craft, their work narrates heightened moments through physical storytelling. With training rooted in Fight Directors Canada, they have developed skills across a range of weapon disciplines, some including; smallsword, longsword, staff, cloak, or anything that might leave a cut.
Through piecing together fragments of story, the collective is drawn to moments where storytelling exceeds language, where hearts collide, and words fall short. In these spaces, the sword becomes a means of expression, articulating what cannot be spoken. ACC is excited by the presence stage combat demands and the intentionality it requires. It unites people, scenes and worlds together in fantastical ways.
