Performed by 5 musicians from various groups on the Quebec music scene, Henri Godon’s music is taken through a range of styles: jazz, traditional, swing, etc. Surprising arrangements and an explosive brass section accompany the writer’s well-constructed songs. Sometimes funny, sometimes poetic, the words are inspired by the everyday lives of 5 to 11 year-olds but are sung and spoken in a language that is far from childish. Henri Godon does not claim to be on an educational mission; as staged by Bryan Perro, the show instead invites families to a veritable party based on the songs. Brass, electric guitar, drums, joy, songs, and words… Don’t worry about what it all means, just have fun!
