Review: DEMI LOVATO - IT'S NOT THAT DEEP TOUR at Target Center Minneapolis Image

On May 2, 2026, Demi Lovato hit the stage at the Target Center with her It’s Not That Deep Tour, and the whole night felt big but still really personal at the same time. ADÉLA opened and got the crowd going early with a set full of clean choreography and strong energy—definitely the kind of opener that actually warms up a room instead of just filling time.

Demi came out fast (literally) with “Fast,” “Kiss,” and “Frequency,” and the production was immediately noticeable—huge screens, moving lights, different stage levels—but it never felt like too much. The choreography was a big part of the show too. It was tight and high-energy, but still felt natural, not overly robotic. One of the cooler touches was how she kept giving her backup dancers their own moments throughout the night. They weren’t just in the background—you could tell they were a real part of the show.

At one point early on, she talked about how this is her first tour since getting married, and it kind of set the tone. The whole night felt like she was in a really solid, happy place, just enjoying being on stage again.

The middle of the show was packed with hits—“Heart Attack,” “Tell Me You Love Me,” “Confident”—and they all hit exactly how you’d want them to. Then it loosened up a bit with “Low Rise Jeans” and “Fantasy,” before going into the “Solo” / “No Promises” / “Neon Lights” section, which had more of a dance/club vibe. There was also a dancers’ interlude that actually felt worth watching, not just a break—different styles, lots of personality.

One of the best moments came when she brought a fan into the show to pick from outfits representing her different eras. The fan chose the Don’t Forget era, which led into “Don’t Forget,” and the whole vibe shifted. It was way more stripped back and emotional, and you could feel the crowd lock in.

After that, things slowed down for a bit with songs like “Skyscraper” and “Give Your Heart a Break.” Not a ton of production here—just her voice and some softer, more expressive movement from the dancers.

Then it all built back up again. “Here All Night” and “Joshua Tree” brought the energy back, “Stone Cold” showed off her vocals, and by the time she got to “Sorry Not Sorry” and “Really Don’t Care,” the entire arena was basically shouting along.

The encore wrapped everything up perfectly. “Before I Knew You” and “Sorry to Myself” eased things back in before ending with “Cool for the Summer,” which was just full-on fun—lights, dancing, crowd going all out.

Overall, it didn’t feel overproduced or forced. It just felt like Demi Lovato really knew what she wanted this show to be—and pulled it off.

Thank you Demi for an amazing night, we hope to have you back again soon!
