Playhouse Family Theatre Presents Magical Circus Mayhem in BOOM!

The Playhouse Family Theatre is proud to announce BOOM! Circus, a brilliant one-day special event, is to perform on the Depot Theatre stage on Saturday, April 7 at 2:00pm and 7:00pm. It's comedia dell'arte goes to the circus!
"BOOM! has traveled the world wowing audiences with their unique blend of commedia dell'arte and circus performance. It is a hilarious and dazzling show for the whole family.," said Robert Lee, artistic director of the Underground Theatre and Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) with the Duluth Playhouse.
BOOM! Circus breathes new life into the ancient tradition of masked theater, full of spontaneous improvisations with the public, heart-touching drama, impossible skills and hilarious moments of sheer humanity.
An American duo, Peter Sweet and David Poznanter, portray a cast of 6 characters (Artemis, Bruce, Sammy, Gigo, Gus, and Arthur) who put on an entire circus, complete with slack rope, Cyr Wheel, juggling and live music.
"Our new Family Theatre stage is excited to be able to bring the finest in family entertainment from across the region and country to Duluth, and BOOM! is the perfect show to start," continues Lee.

Peter Sweet and David Poznanter performed their first show together in 1997, where they sang and performed in the opera Carmen at the University of California, Santa Cruz. In 2002, they founded the Dusk Beat Circus in San Francisco, directing, producing and performing in the company's premier show, Umbra.
