Saunders, manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company, is ready to welcome world-famous tenor Tito Merelli for a one-night-only performance. But when the singer arrives late and accidentally takes a double dose of tranquilizers, he passes out cold.
Believing he’s dead, Saunders and the assistant hatch a plan: Max must disguise himself as Tito and perform in his place. Max pulls it off—until Tito wakes up and puts on the same costume, ready to go on stage! With two identical “Il Stupendos” running around, confused lovers, and mistaken identities galore, the madness escalates into a hilarious farce.
