Novelist Charles Condomine, living with second wife Ruth, invites local medium Madame Arcati to his home to help him research the spirit world for a new book. But the writer gets more than he bargained for when Arcati conjures up the ghost of his first wife, Elvira. Caught between a living wife and a dead one, each jealous of the other, Charles thinks matters couldn’t get worse, but he is so wrong!
