West End Players Present Steel Magnolias August 7–9, 2026 The Windsor Center – Iron River, Michigan

The West End Players are proud to present Robert Harling’s beloved comedy-drama Steel Magnolias for one weekend only at the Windsor Center in Iron River.

Directed by Joshua Monsoon and Assistant Directed By Lilianna Micola, this heartfelt production celebrates friendship, family, resilience, and the remarkable women who support one another through life’s greatest joys and deepest sorrows. Set in Truvy’s Beauty Spot in a small Louisiana town, Steel Magnolias blends laugh-out-loud humor with unforgettable emotional moments that have made it one of America’s most cherished plays.

Joshua Monsoon
Director
Joshua Monsoon is an actor, director, and creative producer based in Iron River, Michigan. With theatrical experience spanning the whole United States, Joshua has built a diverse body of work encompassing musical theatre, comedy, drama, cabaret, directing, visual storytelling, and community arts leadership. Among his notable stage credits, Joshua portrayed Jason in Dynamic Stage Productions’ 2010 Detroit-area premiere of *bare: A Pop Opera* at the Riverside Arts Center in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Additional leading and featured roles include Harold Hill in *The Music Man* with Center Stage Jackson, Duke in *The Great American Trailer Park Musical* with mad Theatre of Tampa, Simon Stride in *Jekyll & Hyde*, and Wadsworth in *Clue: Live On Stage*. He also appeared in the ensemble of *RENT* with mad Theatre of Tampa and as a featured performer in Center Stage Jackson’s *What’s New, Broadway?* cabaret. Joshua’s portrayal of the outrageous Duke in *The Great American Trailer Park Musical* received enthusiastic praise from BroadwayWorld, which commended his commanding stage presence and scene-stealing comedic performance. After returning to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Joshua became actively involved with the West End Players in Iron River. As a director, he brings a strong visual perspective, an enthusiasm for collaboration, and a deep appreciation for both comedy and emotionally driven storytelling. His recent directing work includes Robert Harling’s beloved comedy-drama *Steel Magnolias*. Known for his humor, creativity, energy, and attention to detail, Joshua enjoys being involved in every aspect of theatrical production, including acting, directing, set concepts, promotional design, audience experience, and community outreach. Joshua is passionate about creating high-quality, welcoming community theatre that brings people together and provides opportunities for local performers to shine. He remains continually inspired by the remarkable artistic talent found throughout Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and believes that unforgettable theatre can thrive in communities of every size.
