The Bronze Buckaroo Rides the Gotham Hotel
The Bronze Buckaroo Rides the Gotham Hotel is a one man show set in Detroit's Gotham Hotel in the hours leading up to it's demolition in 1963. Herb Jeffries, who moved out to Hollywood to star as the Bronze Buckaroo in a series of Black singing cowboy films in the late 1930's and who travelled the country singing with Duke Ellington in the forties has returned to his hometown and broken into the hotel on a peculiar mission. Written by Alice Randall, directed by Lynch Travis, it stars Edmund Alyn Jones and will be presented as a stage reading at Live6 Alliance, 7426 W. McNichols in Detroit.
