Its 1937 and the Baxter sisters of Ionia, MI are determined to take the world by storm with their tap dancing routines. But when tragedy strikes, their attention shifts from fame to supporting their family. The Baxter sisters start up a dance studio in their garage and set new goals for themselves as they face the realities of growing up and learning to heal from the past. Set in the mid 20th century, The Baxter Sisters explores family dynamics after tragedy through humor and love. The story line will tug on your heartstrings and put a rhythm in your soul.

Tipping Point Theatre Presents the World Premiere of THE BAXTER SISTERS
March 17, 2022 The Baxter Sisters had their lives planned out as teenagers back in 1937. They would win the talent competition in Detroit, get a spot on Major Bowes Amateur Hour and become a famous traveling act of tap dancing sisters. But after April, May, June and Dottie lose the competition to one Betty Hutton, the sisters are forced to lower their expectations of stardom and learn to enjoy what they have together in Ionia, MI. A story inspired by true events, The Baxter Sisters takes a hard look at mid 20th century life between these four outgoing siblings.

They would win the talent competition in Detroit, get a spot on Major Bowes Amateur Hour and become a famous travelling act of tap dancing sisters. When the talent competition is lost to Betty Hutton, the sisters quickly learn that no matter what life throws their way, they will have to fight through it to reach their goals of tapping on tour.
