“Looong gone,” but never forgotten! Mitch Albom’s hit play, Ernie, brings Detroit’s beloved Hall of Fame broadcaster Ernie Harwell to the stage. Ernie is about to give a moving thank you to grateful fans. An unusual boy coaxes him into giving the “broadcast of his life.” Albom, the hugely successful author of Tuesdays With Morrie, has written a story of 20th-century Americana and a love affair with baseball. Ernie went through the Great Depression, World War II, the desegregation of sports – he also called some of the grandest moments ever witnessed on a ball field. The play features historic baseball moments and many unmistakable Harwell calls.
Ages: Kids and up.
