he thought provoking drama Orson's Shadow by Austin Pendleton will debut at Planet Ant November 25 with performances through December 19. Tickets ($10-$20) are on sale now at www.planetant.com. A complete performance schedule follows this release.

An extremely thought provoking drama, Austin Pendleton's Orson's Shadow takes a look at the relationships between some of the most respected and sought after souls of twentieth century stage and screen. It is 1960 and the Royal Court Theatre in London is producing Eugene Ionesco's "Rhinoceros" starring Laurence Olivier and Joan Plowright. The show is set to be directed by Orson Welles. But as his career is withering Olivier's is thriving which leads to a roller-coaster ride of conceit, manipulation, jockeying for position, love, jealousy, and hilarity. In Orson's Shadow, Pendleton has created an informed study of accuracy and wisdom by adding subtlety, realism, triumph and decline to this clever drama without becoming "over the top."

Orson's Shadow is directed by Charles Reynolds (Detroit) with stage management by Eric Aberasturi (Detroit), costume design by Barbie Weisserman (Farmington Hills) and lighting design by John Jakary (Detroit). The cast features Dax Anderson (Hamtramck), Johnathan Davidson (Detroit), Joel Mitchell (Berkley), T.M. Rawlins (Bloomfield), Kelly Rossi (Grosse Pointe Park) and Bryan Spangler (Detroit). Performances run November 25 through December 19 with show times at 8:00pm on Friday and Saturday evening with an 8:00pm performance on Wednesday, November 25 and 2:00pm Sunday matinees on December 6 and 13. Tickets ($10 - $20) are available now online at www.planetant.com or in person at the Planet Ant box office 30 minutes prior to show time based on availability.
